Insurance!!

I'm finding Insurance one of the hardest things to figure out. The current insurance I'm on, won't cover anything for a surrogate. So I have had to search and find ( Thanks Brian at Circle and Mari for your help) insurance.  The first one we found doesn't work because I have group coverage right know. If I would have had an individual plan, and not through Michael's work I would have been fine. For whatever reason it makes a difference.

So now we have found the right insurance, but it has been such a long process. We couldn't send the money to get the insurance started because the couple I'm matched with hasen't signed our agreement yet. ( our  agreemnet is a contract signed by both me and the couple, agreeing on how and what this journey will consist of, we will both have a lawyer to respresent us through the process) But they hadn't signed yet because there is a waiting period on the insurance, I have to wait at least a year before I can deliver. I can be pregnant, I just can't deliver until at least a year as has passed.  Which we were under the understanding that I had to wait a year to even get prego. So its been a very confusing process.

So as of this point, we have sent the premium in for insurance and can know get our contract signed!!!
Sorry if that is so confusing, It was confusing for me as well.

 

Choosing a Hospital

If you had to choose a hospital, based on the Surrogacy requirements in MN, where would you choose to deliver???  And why?

1.  Pipestone
2.  Luverne
3.  Worthington
4.  Marshall
5.  Another choice in SW MN

As most of you know, I'm starting a new journey in life!! I'm working on being a surrogate mother! I thought it was a good Idea to start a blogg so everyone could see the process!!

I have allways thought being a surrogate mother would be awesome, since I love being preganant and I can give someone the gift of life!! I would love to fullfill someone needs to be a mother!!
I also love that I can teach my children to be kind and helpful.

It has been interesting so far! I first had to fill out alot of paperwork about me and my family, which also included Michael as well. From birth to know.  Ive also had to work on getting new insurance to cover being a surrogate, send all medical records of my past two pregnancy's and take the MMPI test.

So far everything is looking good!! hopefully heading out east in the next couple of weeks to have my first apt at the fertility clinic, so make sure I'll be ok to do a transfer.

(A transfer is when they pregnate me with someone elses fertalized eggs)
